At The Center for Healing, we believe that everyone has the potential to lead a fulfilling and meaningful life. Our counseling services are designed to support our clients on their healing journey so that they may achieve their goals.
We offer a wide range of counseling services, including individual counseling, counseling for children and adolescents, family therapy, community health support and more. Our services are tailored to meet the unique needs of each of our clients.

The Center for Healing believes that all people should have access to therapy. In an effort to address barriers to treatment, our therapists offer in home, in office, telehealth and school based treatment options.
We take a humanistic approach to those we serve and our counselors are trained in a variety of evidence-based techniques including CBT, TF CBT, MI, in order to help our clients achieve optimal mental health. Our counselors are dedicated to meeting our clients where they are at and working alongside them to achieve healing.
Our individual counseling services are designed to help you overcome personal challenges and achieve your goals. Our licensed counselors provide a supportive and non-judgmental environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, gain insights into your behavior, and develop strategies for positive change.
Our couples counseling services can help you and your partner improve communication, resolve conflicts, and build a stronger relationship. Whether you are facing challenges related to intimacy, trust, or other issues, our experienced therapists can help you work through them and achieve greater satisfaction in your relationship.
Our family counseling services are designed to help families overcome challenges related to communication, conflict, and other issues. Our licensed therapists work with families to identify strengths and weaknesses, improve communication and problem-solving skills, and develop a stronger sense of cohesion and support.
Our child and adolescent counseling services are designed to help young people overcome a range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and more. Our therapists use evidence-based techniques to help children and teens develop coping skills, improve self-esteem, and achieve greater success in school and other areas of life.
Our addiction counseling services can help you overcome substance abuse and other addictive behaviors. Our licensed therapists use a variety of evidence-based techniques to help you develop coping skills, build a support network, and achieve lasting recovery. We also provide support for family members affected by addiction.
Our community support program serves as a support for the client by coordinating with providers and community supports and resources to better improve overall client care and functioning. The Center for Healing offers the help of Community Health Workers for those who qualify in order to:
- increase access to health care through assistance with transportation, case management, scheduling, advocacy
- increase client connection to their community resources for overall better behavioral health (medical care, food, housing, basic needs)
- provide support and education for those managing chronic illnesses
- assist with finding appropriate providers for all areas of care
Sarah Owens, LMHC graduated from Old Dominion University with a Masters degree in Counseling in 2008. Sarah has been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Rhode Island since 2012. Over the course of her career Sarah has worked closely with individuals, children and families in community mental health settings helping to reunify families, provide stabilization in homes and provided trauma informed
Jasmine Thompson, LMHCA graduated with her Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern New Hampshire University and is currently working as an Licensed Mental Health Associate in RI. She has a decade of experience working in the mental health and substance abuse field with children, adolescents and adults and embraces a person centered approach, placing the client's autonomy
Alexa Falcone, LMHC graduated from William James College with a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2022. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in RI and NH and has experience working with children, adolescents and families involved with DCYF, inpatient settings, residential treatment settings and outpatient.
Kayleigh McCarthy, LMHCA graduated from Assumption College with her Masters degree and CAGS in Rehabilitative Counseling. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate in RI with over 15 years of experience in crisis intervention, vocational counseling and disability management. Kayleigh's approach to treatment is relational, focusing on building strong therapeutic alliances with her clients
Tracene Boisvert, LMHC is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Rhode Island with over 10 years of experience working closely with children, adolescents and adults on trauma focused work. Tracene has a strong background in providing trauma focused treatment with children and adults involved with DCYF, in home and community based settings.
